Its 6 am……. what the hell am I doing up at this hour? This
is my usual bedtime! No matter, I’m ready to jump a train; to the sleepy
village of west lavington for a day’s shooting with friends. Now, I was a
little worried due to the ungodly hour that I might fall asleep on the train
and end up lord knows where…. thankfully, this did not happen and I arrived
safely.
Ned our gorgeous host for the day was cemented in my list of
“top people to visit early in the morning” by immediately placing in my hand a
strong cup of hot black Italian coffee, I could’ve kissed her. Add into the mix
the bacon and eggs provided by Ned’s lovely hubby Sean… and I’m thinking this
is a good place to be!
As the four photographers took in the first rays of sunshine
on the lawn, drank coffee, chatted, our model for the day waited patiently for
her role to begin. I have to tell you about this girl, her name is the vixen. I
have to say, there are beautiful women, and then there’s her. Occasionally you
meet someone whose inner beauty outshines the sun, and I’ve been lucky enough
to know this girl most of my life. The vixen is an elegant mix of beauty and
fragility, her complex mind and awareness only adds to her allure. When you
meet her, you see a confident woman, comfortable in her skin. I am so grateful
that she found the strength to begin to model for me, and now for others. Thank
you vixen, for your support, and for lending your beautiful face to my lens
once in a while.
We spent the day shooting in fields, in abandoned houses,
and in Neds lovely little studio. The grand finale consisted of a glorious
barbecue, good conversation, laughter, and an impromptu bounce on the
trampoline (has to be done as far as I’m concerned!)
So thank you, Ned and Sean, for your hospitality, for your
friendship. To Michelle and Kevin for your company and your insight. Thank you vixen
for being beautiful, inside and out.
